through Automated Access Management
The automation of the Access Management is the key to achieving time and cost savings in the operative area, avoiding manual errors and increased data security and thus also one of the core ideas of the Access Manager. The Access Manager takes over the authorization management from the interactive application submission via Self Service Portal by the user (or a corresponding assistant function), to the identification of the responsible decision maker (or a corresponding deputy), the revision-proof decision documentation and the implementation of the technical changes without involvement of helpdesk or IT Administration.
In accordance with the need-to-know principle, a user should only receive as many authorizations as are required to perform the current tasks. In practice, however, over the course of time more and more extensive authorizations accumulate, which are no longer all needed.
In order to prevent this uncontrolled growth in authorizations, auditors recommend recertification or certification of authorizations, so that data managers review the existing rights situation at regular intervals.
This is where the Access Manager with the integrated Reapproval comes in. The intuitive operation via the browser, which enables an easy to understand and transparent Access Management, is also used in this process and creates in connection with the possibility to assign temporary authorizations, a reduntates system to prevent the unwanted accumulation of authorizations.
