Access Management Quest
A Successful IT-SA 2018 Comes to an End
Requesting access rightpermissions from the lord of the castle – quickly and easily
A frustrated medieval hero stands before the locked castle gate with an assortment of wrong keys. But only the lord of the castle can grant him entry. At this year’s it-sa 2018 in Nuremberg, Europe’s biggest IT security fair, the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager was presented for the first time with a new marketing concept – complete with the antidote for ancient permissions (an energy drink) as well as experience points available at the booth for successfully completing the access management quest, in the form of gym bags. The Access Management Quest illustrates in particular the challenge that many IT departments face when disentangling legacy structures in Active Directory and file servers, and coordinating access management with departmental data controllers – or taking on the full responsibility on their behalf.
The fair showed that not only this topic continues to be especially relevant for IT departments. Related issues, such as EU GDPR compliance, automation of permission assignments, and the regular review of existing permissions, also occupy IT administrators in their daily work. Here, the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager can effective structure workflows, create time and cost savings, and make permission assignments more transparent. After three days of many conversations about the automation of access management, our “it-sa 2018 quest” came to a successful end. We’d like to thank all visitors for the intense dialog on the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager – which has in the meantime turned ten years old – as well as our sales partners and our existing customers, many of whom expressed keen interest in the new release 7.3.
